The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development of the United Nations was launched in 2015 with the goal of ending poverty and putting the world on a path of peace, prosperity and opportunity for all on a healthy planet. Nothing less than what the seventeen sustainable development goals and Egypt's Vision 2030 call for a transformation in the financial, economic and political systems that govern our society today, in order to guarantee the rights of all. Achieving these goals requires political will and ambitious actions by all shareholders.

Among these goals, the fifth goal is gender equality and non-discrimination, and the empowerment of women and their representation in leadership roles.
